First correct answer gets best answer

One particular subspecies (Saimiri oerstedii oerstedii) of squirrel monkeys on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica is very endangered, with probably less than 2000 animals in the wild. There is an effort underway by the Costa Rican Ministry for the Interior and the National Zoo to raise money to get an accurate census and for research on the natural biology of these animals.
