In order to have an exotic animal you have to be bonded for either $30,000 to $50,000 depending on your state. You would also have to check your state and local laws . AS far as obtaining one , you can’t purchase one unless it is a rescue and that means someone already owned it and can not take care of it. You would have to have written consent from your local vet that they are experienced in handling exotic animals. Once you do this then you can put your name on a list.

PLEASE DON’T unless your are wealthy with a large building with steel reinforced windows with built in play equipment and are willing to have more that one as they are social . Also they throw their feces and smell like it too they are stronger that any man and will always find some way to escape unless you borrow an adviser from the zoo with whom you would need to have a relationship with to provide vet services . You REALLY need to think about this
