A very wild ride but more than just the Mountain Dew. It was used to chase down caffeine tablets 2-4 at a time. I know this well exceeds the directions, especially when taking them every coupe hours.
A few weeks working with the Carabinieri (Defense Police, part Police/part Military) in Italy. Very little sleep and a lot of driving. Occasionally there was a pause where I was told we have a 2-4 hour pause before being active again, get some sleep which surprisingly I could and be fit for the next 8-20 hours directly afterward. When running blocker down the Autostrada (highway) in a Chevy Blazer with a tuned motor, steel bumpers and no license plates at speeds in excess of the allowed limits everything is coming at you like a spider monkey.

That was in the 80’s so I was a bit younger and the situation in the world was a lot different. There have been other experiences with the caffeine/sugar experience over the years in various countries also.

As for a great experience, not from the caffeine and sugar but rather the situation surrounding it.
I would not suggest it as a recreational experience. There are much better ways one can get a natural high without the health risks. As long as you have not missed out on life, you have not missed out on anything.
