Theres this poor spider monkey in the news paper and it says free to good home. and i don’t know if I should Take it or not. what do they eat? please tell me.

A license is required to own a primate in each state in the US. So it will be illegal to adopt the Spider Monkey. But they would make a good pet, so its a bit of a trade off really. You could train the monkey to make you breakfast.

Be carefull though, they can throw their poo at you.

Best of luck

Monkeys, while they can make great pets, need to be researched thoroughly before you get one. The thing is, they come from tropical climates (for the most part) so they need very stable temperature and humidity conditions. They also need special housing, because like babies, they get into cupboards, light sockets, and all kinds of mischief. They can catch diseases from humans, and vice versa…. keeping your monkey healthy and alive can be quite a challenge, especially if you consider that all your (potentially not-so-healthy) friends will want to be over all the time playing with it. Monkeys that come from unknown sources are risky, as they are often used in laboratory testing, and while they are supposed to be destroyed if they have been used for medical research of human diseases, this isn’t always the case.

Proceed with caution, my good-hearted friend.

You should get the monkey and then contact the nearest zoo or animal sanctuary and give it to them.
They are NOT good pets. Most of them bite and they all throw feces. They also can carry several diseases (tuberculous, aids and others) that can be transferred to humans.
Wear gloves when you handle it.
