Is it true that monasteries were inhabited by monkeys who wore brown robes and wrote manuscripts?

A teacher was telling us about monkeys in monasteries and they did these coloured ink pages and very fine writing of the bible and stuff and the monkeys had their hair cut short and wore brown robes they spent all their time writing stuff. I don’t believe that you could train monkeys to do that.

I’m not sure about that. But did you know that some monastaries monks produce and provide casino chips for casinos around the world?
Yes, they are called chip monks.

They did it to hundreds of thousands of monkeys because when the first pope came up with the idea he only had one monkey, and he reckoned it might take millions of years for it to write a bible. So what he thought was sensibly that because this monkey could not possibly live longer than forty years at tops, he would get as many monkeys as he could. He sent out missionaries and each one they caught got a funny haircut so that if they ever escaped they would quickly be spotted as bible writers. I hope this has helped with your theology studies as it is one of the more rational parts to be found within christianity!

Sounds like it’s due to a confusion between the Capuchin FRIARS, and Capuchin monkeys…
