The monkey will be going to a loving home. I am located in Ohio and it IS legal to have a pet monkey.
This monkey will be in a loving home. I am located in Ohio and it IS legal to own an exotic pet. This is for Shelby I do know if it is legal and it is ! If you would’ve read the details you would’ve known that.
I live in the country with about two acres of land and a lot of trees.

well the first thing you should know is that primates of any kind cost a lot of money. Marm’s run around 2000+ all the way up to capuchins that run around 8000+. So if your not ready to spend that kind of money you don’t need one, because that is just to buy one that don’t count taking proper care of it.
Also I would figure out what kind of primate you want, and start reading up on that breed so you know how to take care of it. Each breed is very different and there for need different kinds of care.
Also if you work a lot you don’t need a primate unless you can provide it with a mate and even then they STILL have to be with you pretty much all the time. Unless you are just wanting something pretty to keep in a cage to look at.(and if that’s what you want get a bird) Because if you don’t handle them at lot then they will get to where you CANT handle them.
Primates take a lot of work, money and time to keep them healthy and happy. And know that they can live a LONG time, some up to 40+ years. Can you provide for a monkey for the next 40 years, giving it what it needs and putting its needs before your own? If not don’t get one, it wont work out anyway’s and you will end up resaleing it.
Now with all this being said, Having a primate as a pet is a wonderful thing IF and ONLY IF you are willing to put in the time and money and work.

    Don’t get one.

It won’t just sit and look cute.

Depending on the breed, they can live for a long time.

They don’t get on with other animals or strangers.

    They can be aggressive easily.

    They are VERY messy.

They need a LOT of exercise- even if small, they can’t be in a cage.

If you want something cute that you can handle, get a rat or a gerbil- they can sit on your shoulder, you can train them, without nearly as much mess and aggression.

You aren’t ready for a monkey. You don’t even know if you can legally own one. DONT get one. They are not made to be pets. They belong in the wild.

edit: Ok, when I read it, I didn’t see it, I just saw it as a question whether they are legal or not….but either way. Monkeys shouldn’t be in captivity. They are not made to be pets. They are not fun, only a hassle. Please think alot more before getting a monkey

No, I dont have a monkey for sale but I dont believe you should get one. Monkeys can be very mean sometimes depending on what type of monkey you get. They shouldn’t be trapped inside a house all day. They need to stay in their natural environment! And even if they are going to be going to a loving home, I dont think that would be a good idea to have one as a pet. Monkeys arent even considered a pet really.

I dunno if you want one, dear, their right. They don’t sit and look cute.
They make messes you have to be willing to clean up.
They have to have lots of exercise. So I don’t think a city yard will do it if you live in the city…
They can become aggressive with other members that are not apart of his ”family”.
