I really want a marmoset, but i don’t know if they are illegal or not, because some people say they and and some people say there not.
Also what are the requirements to having one and do you need to have a pass or something, and if they are legal where can i get one in the uk, also are you allowed them in the uk.
Is it true they come dangerous when they grow up?
Thanks
"Marmosets are small South American monkeys that are often kept as exotic pets. While young marmosets are often affectionate and fun, these animals can become aggressive and unpredictable as they grow older. As a result, it is possible to own a pet marmoset legally in most areas, but it is not necessarily recommended."
This basically says yes, but check out the link which has useful points and a LOT more detail =]

any exotic animal can be dangerous. It depends on the laws in your area, they may be illegal. Here in the US you need special permits in some areas to have them, which you need to buy, and in some places, like certain cities, they are completely illegal and will be confiscated on site.
I would recommend against getting one, I know someone very well who got one, they bite, poop everywhere, stink, and are moody, just like people but miniature. haha.
Good luck!

Please please don’t get one it is cruel. They need specailisted care and to live in large enclosures in a group. Keeping any kind of monkey as a pet is cruel and selfish. They may look cutie but when they reach sexual matrity they become dagerous. If you relly love them adopt one from Monkey World Dorest they rescue apes of all shapes and sizes from a cruel world wide pet trade. Plaese contact them and i’m sure they will explain much better than me why they make unsuitable pets. http://www.monkeyworld.org/

Yes they are legal, and no you don’t need some sort of pass.
I have one myself and he is only fifteen months or so old now, but he is definitely not a danger to anybody. they are small, so even if they attacked it probably wouldn’t hurt. there are many sanctuary’s in the uk, that you can buy one from and dealers in england, but you must research them first as the most of the breeders and dealers are only in it for the money and in fact don’t know much about them.
