I’ve been looking at a lot of websites on Marmoset Monkey’s in Florida but most of them are scams or from another state or too expensive. Can anybody please help me on some good websites with not to expensive monkey’s and that are for sale or adoption in Florida and that are not scams. PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why in the world would you want a WILD ANIMAL for a pet?

All you are doing is torturing the animal if you "buy" it as a pet. It is a wild animal and NEEDS to be in the wild. You are not doing ANY good for you or the animal.

You are supporting so many wrong and illegal causes by wanting to this. Animals were here before we where and survived just fine. They do not need our help. To keep them in a cage and not allow them the freedom to be themselves is cruel.

Also think of the cost of owning such an animal, food, housing, not to mention what would be the chances that you could find a Vet that would have experience in exotic/zoo animals? It would probably cost you a fortune.

Bad idea, I don’t agree with you and think you should try adopting a dog or cat from a shelter or rescue.

Sorry, but monkeys are expensive, and buying them is only the start. You will likely pay a few grand for a pair of marmosets (and no you can’t just have one, they are social and that’s animal abuse), but that is just the start.

A pair of marmoset monkeys require a very large, specially made enclosure with special locks and extra strong metal mesh. It needs to allow natural sunlight in but be heated to keep them warm. Such enclosures cost thousands, sometimes even tens of thousands. No, before you say it, you cannot let your marmosets just roam the house, they poo and pee everywhere (keeping diapers on them isn’t feasible either, it can cause irritation and anyway they can pull them off no problems). Also, they will end up hurting themselves on regular household things, electricity sockets, knives and the like.

Then there’s feeding. Correctly feeding a pair of marmosets will cost nearly as much as feeding a human. They need varied fruits and veggies, a protein source, marmoset food, and various vitamins. Such feeding is likely to cost a grand at least in a year.

Then there’s the vet. You may have to travel out of state to find a decent primate vet, and such vets, again, will cost a fortune.

It is impossible to keep or buy a monkey on the cheap. Correct equipment and upkeep is likely to cost far more than the monkey cost to buy, each and every year.

It sounds as though you don’t know a lot about monkeys. This is a recipe for disaster. Monkeys are only cute and cuddly for a few years, (or a year or two in marmosets) once they hit sexual maturity they are vicious and nasty, biting, scratching, peeing and crapping on their owners. This is the point where people dump them on sanctuaries. Its really not fair to keep monkeys in the home, especially if you don’t know what you are doing. I suggest you go and research for a monkey rescue. Then you’ll learn just why they don’t make good pets for the vast majority of the population.
