Eagles, like Harpy eagles.

Cats like Margays which hunt in the trees, Ocelots, Oncilla and occasionally Jaguars and Puma when the monkeys venture to the ground.

Large snakes.

The diet of the monkeys is generally gum from trees and fruits, however they prey on insects, birds eggs and insects larvae.

Is the so called "alien" baby real? Or simply a squirrel monkey?

Posted by admin on May 10th, 2011 and filed under squirrel monkey | 3 Comments »

The baby "alien" found in mexico was drowned by the farmer who found it, because he was afraid. Scientist have said it is not from this world, but to me, it definitely looks like a squirrel monkey.

Dude…. come on now…

Of course it is not real…

How many times does "alien" stuff have to turn out to be fake before you will stop commenting on crazy s$!t…

Squirrel monkeys move through the trees by leaping. They have thighs that are shorter relative to their lower legs; this allows more jumping force. They distribute a musky glandular secretion throughout their fur (especially on tail) as scent to mark territory or to leave a trail for others of the troop to follow as they go through the trees. This odor turns away hunters who might otherwise kill them for food.

Squirrel monkeys find safety in numbers by feeding in large groups that are too great for the larger monkeys to chase from the trees.

Squirrel monkey where can I buy one?

Posted by admin on July 5th, 2010 and filed under squirrel monkey | 2 Comments »

Yes, been really looking to buy a squirell monkey and looking for a baby…thanks for your help all

I wish I could say you can’t because I really believe that non domestic exotic animals do not belong in pet homes. If you think you are really prepared to own and care for this animal for the next 15 to 20 years, if you would want to be tied to an infant who needs your care 24/7, 365, that you cannot leave with a pet sitter or a boarding kennel, that no veterinarian in their right mind would touch or even allow in their clinic because of the possibility of zoonotic disease (diseases that monkeys and humans can catch from each other, there are over 200) if you would put all its needs before your own just as you would for a human infant then I would say you are a liar or crazy. Please do not commit this tragedy of thinking you can take care of a monkey properly and not end up needing to throw it away because you cannot take care of it and no one else will. Please!
