How to get rid of Monkeys from our farm without hurting them??

Posted by admin on November 29th, 2009 and filed under monkeys | 12 Comments »

We don’t want to hurt or kill monkeys who have been troublesome for the past many years. They are not afraid of dogs or any sound. They come in group and enter our farm and eat fruits.

borrow some traps from your local zoo

Or buy Lion manure from your local Zoo…
It will fertilise you plants and the smell scares small creatures

Where can I buy one of those tiny monkeys they call a thumb Monkey?

Posted by admin on November 27th, 2009 and filed under monkeys | 1 Comment »

I think they’re called a tasier or something like that, but often referred to as thumb monkeys. They’re smaller than a hamster, and very cute and loveable. I always see pictures of people with them, but wonder where to buy them.

You should go to a veternarian and ask them….or a local pet store that has exotic animals!!

Can spider monkeys really wrap around your finger?

I’ve seen pictures and people tell me about how small spider monkeys are.
Are they so small that they can wrap around your finger? Can you give me a picture?

They are pulling your leg. Spider monkeys are some of the larger monkeys. There is a picture at the link.

What’s the difference between apes and monkeys?

Posted by admin on November 22nd, 2009 and filed under monkeys | 3 Comments »

Do monkeys have tails and apes don’t? Are baboons monkeys?

It is certainly true that apes don’t have tails while monkeys do – there are other differences too.

Baboons are definitely monkeys, old-world monkeys in fact – the group most closely related to apes.

Take a look at the link below, it is the family tree of all the primates. You will see the apes (great apes and gibbons) in one group and the old-world monkeys in another + all the other primate families. It’s a good starting point for finding out more.

monkeys in a group enter garden trees in residential areas in and around urban areas and scare away children and old people. This kind of monkey menace is common place and reported on a daily basis. Is there any method to shoo away the monkey groups in a harmless and cruel less way?

no stop feeding the monkeys on the fence and they should go away just a suggestion

Most or nearly all online stores provide sea monkey eggs, and breeding them is very easy task if you follow the instruction booklet that comes along with the package.

There are small white specs resembling sea monkeys in my turtle tank. What could these be?

Posted by admin on November 10th, 2009 and filed under monkeys | 1 Comment »

I have 2 Red Eared Slider Turtles and I noticed today that there are small white specs that swim around erratically, much like sea monkeys, floating around all over their tank. Does anyone know what these could be? I’ve looked online for answers but there’s nothing about sea monkeys spontaneously appearing in turtle tanks.

There are quite a few micro-organisms that fit the description you’ve provided, not all of which are harmful to turtles. “Sea monkey” is the trade name for brine shrimp…these require salt water in which to live and are reddish in color.

To be on the safe side, break your tank and filter down and clean with table salt. Treating your turtles with a broad spectrum anti-parasite medication such as Sulfa Dip http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/group/13126/product.web would be a good idea as well, just in case. Be sure also that the turtles can dry off thoroughly when basking, and that they have access to UVB light – both go a long way in improving their immune systems and in killing external parasites.

Can you put snails in the tank with Sea Monkeys?

Posted by admin on November 5th, 2009 and filed under monkeys | 4 Comments »

My sons’ have Sea Monkeys, and they want to put something else in the tank. I’ve no problem setting up a different tank for pretty fish, but they want something to put in WITH the Sea Monkeys. Can I put snails in there without it hurting the Sea Monkeys?

The trouble with doing this, especially if its those little plastic things that sea monkeys come in, is that not only is that too small to support the bioload of both a snail and the sea monkeys, but sea monkeys are brine shrimp, they live in brine, salty brackish water. Most snails sold such as ramshorn and apple (also called mystery) snails will not tolerate salt at all. Snails that will tolerate salt are large (1" plus) and are real poop machines, really needing a proper filtered tank, not the stagnant salty water brine shrimp live in.
