The stake is 2.39 m from a vertical pole, and the chain is 3.58 m long. How high can the monkey climb up the pole?

Use pythagorean theorem for this(C^2=A^2+B^2, for a right triangle)

Side C is the chain, A is the distance between the pole and the stake, B is ho high he can climb so:

3.58^2=12.8164

2.39^2=5.7121

12.8164-5.7121=7.1043

square root of 7.1043=2.66538928

the monkey can climb 2.66538928 if the chain can not move from the stake, unless this is a trick question where the loop in the chain can slide up the stake the monkey can climb as high as the pole.

It won’t be as a pet, the monkey will have proper training and wouldn’t be left alone. I believe they are pygmy marmosets, but I’m unfamiliar with them. I know it’s illegal to have one as a pet, but my granny really needs help around the house and I’ve seen how these monkeys can help out tremendously.
