Everyone on the show and the network on which it airs refers to him (CG) as a monkey. George is an a chimpanzee and therefore an ape. Why would an "educational" network not have the proper information?
Curious George is a monkey. Quote from a Curious George story:
"This is George. He lived in Africa. He was a good little monkey and always very curious."
Also, words have what’s called connotations. Although apes are not monkeys, connotatively, they are.
I need to know for an assignment please help!!! Can you please reference where you got your information from too.
Thanks

I am a senior in high school and this is all I ask for my senior year. Please do not comment back if you do not have any information… I don’t want to know any ones oppinion. So if any one could help me out it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you and God bless!!
Im frm south africa, and they run around everywhere here. Getting a monkey is easy. Getting a permit isnt.
Now firstly I don’t want to hear that it’s bad to own monkeys as pets and they’re a lot of work, they’re expensive, time consuming etc.
I just want to know if it is legal to own one in Victoria, Australia.
Also any extra information about having them as pets would be appreciated
I would ideally like an orangutan.
Thanks!!!
In places like Australia, you can own most things if you have a license. Doesn’t mean that they are good pets but that is your decision and I won’t force my opinions onto you. Good luck finding one though, not many people sell them plus they cost about £600 so think about it a little bit first maybe. Orangutans are not available as pets however, as they are critically endangered in the wild but you could go on holiday in the amazon rainforest if you want to see one. now about care, For starters your monkey will need a HUGE cage to live in. and also they only eat fresh fruit, so good luck on finding one!
Those who have seen it say its 4 ft. stall, has sharp metal claws, has glowing or flaming red eyes, is quitr agile and has a face like a hunab man. It was said to have been terrorizing India throughtout May, 2001. Is this creature real or a product of mass hysteria? Anyone have any information in this creature?
I recall reading an article from CNN on this several years ago. I guess there were several alleged victims that had sustained what appeared to be injuries inflicted on them by an animal (bites and scratches/claw marks?) and it was suppose to be under investigation. I know that there were many, like the police, that attributed these attacks to mere superstition, but I don’t remember if anything was ever conclusively stated.
It is highly likely that it may have been a result of mass hysteria. You have to consider that a lot of the people in this area were/are not highly educated, and many of these people are probably firm believers of the paranormal and supernatural.
where can i find them what websites so i can by one i’m starting my pet store and i won’t sell him or her but i think it would be a good idea to get a girl and boy so they can make a famlie and i can show the kids the babys and there famlies and teach them about the rain forest and all that i will treat them like people never caged up if u have any information please talk thank you
I currently own a capuchin male monkey. First off I will tell you that though your intentions mean well you will need to do alot of research. The sites listed below will talk about primate needs and charactertistics. You can never learn enough about these wonderful animals.
Also on you idea of wanting a girl and a boy. It is nearly impossible to raise 2 baby monkeys at the same time. The reason being is when you correct one the other one will come to its recue and you will have many problems. If you want a baby then get one raise it for approximately 2 yrs before getting another one. This is just monkey nature. In the wild when one monkey of the troop gets into trouble all the monkeys jump in to punish that monkey. It is not a good thing when a human is involved.
If you want to write to me I will give you my breeder’s email address. She is very reputable and I think she currently has a male right now that is ready to go.
You will see my monkey in my picture riding my dog.
Could you tell me any information you may know on Albino Monkeys.
Cost
food
Life expectancy
thanks most helpful answer gets 10 points
You dont want a monkey.. they are cute, but terrible pets.
They are aggressive for one thing.. this isnt something you can "train out of them" its part of their social structure and how they communicate. They bite, hit, pinch, slap, etc.. Many primate owners have ended up in the hospital from injuries they recieved from their pets.. even the most affectionate primate will hurt you at some point!
They have filthy behavoirs. They can NOT be potty trained or housebroken.. and you cant expect them to leave a diaper on. Primates will smear and fling food and poop.. they may eat and drink their own wastes, or just go where they please. They also masturbate when they reach sexual maturity.
They can carry nasty diseases, including hepatitis, HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis.
they have special needs.. there are special dietary needs, its not about feeding bannanas.. they need a balance of fruits and vegetables, and many primates do also need protein sources as well.. they are not all vegetarians! They also need special vet care.. do you have the access and funds for a zoonotic vet?
They are often illegal in many places, even with an exotic’s licence. To own some species you almost have to be an exhibitor (such as a zoo).. the licencing is not cheap.. the animal itself is not cheap.. smaller primates cost around $5,000-10,000 and up.. larger primates can cost well over $50,000 to obtain.
Also to get a primate you really have to obtain it as a newborn.. meaning that a mother has its newborn baby taken from her!
Primates are also very destructive creatures.. they need constant mental stimulation.
They are a life-time commitment as well. Some primates can live well over 40 years. Will you always be able to properly house and afford the care of this animal for its lifetime? You cannot just get rid of it when it no longer suits you.. primates do not adapt well to new owners, not even with experienced primate owners. Zoos do not take people’s pets either, because they often lack the social skills to integrate them with the other primates. Primates often need to be euthanized when the owners can no longer care for them.
