All racial connotations aside, he was screaming and yelling, and his behavior seemed similar to that of a monkey.

it can deff come across as being racist wether or not you mean it like that. i think it would be better off to say "stop acting like a child" because calling a black person a monkey, even if they were acting like a monkey and you were not refering to the racial slur, can still come across are wrong.

Please do not think you are learning anything at all about evolution from that image. It’s like looking at a cartoon of an apple falling on Newton’s head and thinking your learning about gravity.

The image you’re talking about is called the "March of Progress" image … and it is probably responsible for more misunderstandings about evolution than any other image.

Man did not evolve from monkeys. Man shares a common ancestor with the monkeys. The March of Progress image is a *SIMPLIFICATION* that just does not do justice to the *branching* nature of what evolution is really about.

i’ve found this spider in my garden and can’t find anything like it on the internet. it looks like the ‘monkey face’ is engraved!

It could be one of the Jumping spiders…..sometimes they have images of skulls on their backs.

The reference of a black person resembling a monkey is a profoundly historical racist comment. It has been a tool of dehumanization for centuries and cannot remotely be compared to presenting a white person as monkey looking. There are a freaking gajillion drawings from as far back as pre-abolition showing black people as monkeys. It was used to degrade the value of these people and keep them subjugated. There is no hypocrisy here, just morally lazy people steeped in fear, clinging to the past, hoping their bad behavior is valid because they are uncomfortable with facts. Please. Embrace the racism, and quit trying to ram it down our throats.
