just wondering as i thought it was ilegal but i don’t know. you tell me
i live in england but i don’t want one just woderng the laws only just found out they coudbe pets

Well, it depends what state you live in. If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont and Wyoming you can’t have one at all. If you live in a different state the laws are are all different. If you told me what state you’re in I could tell you more specifically. Try goggling your states laws and I bet you can come up with something : ).

Can u potty train a capuchin monkey ? How? How much are there licenses to keep one in your house?

Brown Capuchin

I think if you researched it, you’d probably find that monkeys don’t make great pets. They’re wild creatures, and will never grow to love & depend on you like domesticated animals.

And they fling poo.

If ferrets are legal where you live, you might enjoy their playful, silly natures. And, no poo flinging.

You need to research them as pets, though. . . not quite as simple to take care of as cats and dogs usually are.

Monkeys in general make horrible pets. They’re okay until they reach maturity, and then all hell breaks loose.
Do some more research on getting one – if you’re still set on one after you have all the information, go for it. But there have been many, many reports and research done about monkeys and keeping them as companion animals, and it hardly ever ends well.
Good luck.

i am interested in getting a capuchin monkey and i cant seem to find any info. is there anyone who can help?

i need to know if they are good with kid and other animals. also what kind of food they eat and is it hard to keep them healthy. should i get one from the u.s. or over seas? maybe someone out there owns one or knows someone who does who can help. it would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.

First, you need to check if your state allows non-human primates (monkeys, apes and their kin) to be kept as pets, and if so, are there any special restrictions, like licenses and permits. You can check here: http://www.api4animals.org/b4a2_exotic_animals_summary.php

If you find that monkeys are legal in your state, you need to check with your county and municipality, because many individual counties and municipalities restrict the ownership of animals that are otherwise legal in the state.

If you are legally allowed to have a monkey as a pet, then consider the conditions under which monkeys are acquired from the wild, the conditions under which they are kept, their total unsuitability for a life of confinement, and the diseases they can contract and spread to humans. That, in addition to the fact that you would have the equivalent of a 3 year old baby in diapers throwing temper tantrums, hitting, biting, flinging excretement and occupying your every minute 24/7 for the next 25-50 years.

where is the best place in Texas to buy a female baby capuchin monkey ?

PLEASE be serious. also, if you are a seller please give me the price for them and the location that they are for sale at. And I will also accept any other state ,but not out of the country (USA) . (its illegal to import primates from other countries.
Thanks.

There is no best place to get a monkey for a pet. Monkeys are not pets. They are not domesticated, they are wild animals that deserve to live in their natural habitat with other monkeys. Monkeys are susceptable to over 200 zoonotic diseases. Those are diseases which can be transmitted from monkeys to humans and reverse. Veterinarians will not allow them into their clinics much less work on them. If you want to play with monkeys go to college, get a degree in a bio science and go work in a zoo or bio lab.
