Please do not think you are learning anything at all about evolution from that image. It’s like looking at a cartoon of an apple falling on Newton’s head and thinking your learning about gravity.

The image you’re talking about is called the "March of Progress" image … and it is probably responsible for more misunderstandings about evolution than any other image.

Man did not evolve from monkeys. Man shares a common ancestor with the monkeys. The March of Progress image is a *SIMPLIFICATION* that just does not do justice to the *branching* nature of what evolution is really about.

How much would Le Monkey James be averaging without his athleticism?

His athleticism is the only reason he scores easily. What if he didn’t have it? Kobe still has his jump-shooting, what does Prince Le Monkey have?

Same

Why is it that nobody seems to know or understand that Curious George is an ape NOT a monkey?

Posted by admin on May 5th, 2010 and filed under monkey information | 5 Comments »

Everyone on the show and the network on which it airs refers to him (CG) as a monkey. George is an a chimpanzee and therefore an ape. Why would an "educational" network not have the proper information?

Curious George is a monkey. Quote from a Curious George story:
"This is George. He lived in Africa. He was a good little monkey and always very curious."

Also, words have what’s called connotations. Although apes are not monkeys, connotatively, they are.

what spider is black and has a monkey’s face on it’s back?!?

i’ve found this spider in my garden and can’t find anything like it on the internet. it looks like the ‘monkey face’ is engraved!

It could be one of the Jumping spiders…..sometimes they have images of skulls on their backs.
