do you need a exotic pets licence to own a capuchin monkey?

Posted by admin on January 25th, 2010 and filed under capuchin monkey | 6 Comments »

i have seen them on sale in UK and befor buying wnat to know if you need a licence?

These adverts are scams…real monkey breeders dont advertise in this way. You cannot get the black and white capuchins you see in the adverts, only the brown capped capuchin is available in the UK….and they will cost you a minimum of 4000. Since you need at least two monkeys, this is doubled to 8000, and they will cost you a similar amount to keep each year.

You will require an expensive enclosure which will cost at least another 2000 to erect, it must be heated for winter time and allow natural light to get in, making it MORE expensive.

You CANNOT keep a monkey in your house, even in a cage, any cage in a house is too small, minimum recommended enclosure for a pair of caps is 20ft long by 10ft wide.

Capuchins, like all monkeys are very aggressive and sexual when they hit maturity. They can use tools and are deeply dangerous, they stink, indulge in nasty habits involve their own faecal matter and will openly masturbate on you…it is NOT like that programme My Monkey Baby the reality is that monkeys cost tens of thousands to set up correctly and thousands to keep each year, they are capable of delivering such vicious bites and scratches you can require hospitalisation, they can pass diseases to you that can kill you, the common cold you catch can kill them, not to mention the cruelties involved in keeping them. YOU CANNOT KEEP ONE MONKEY ALONE THEY NEED ANOTHER MONKEY FOR COMPANY.

I am hoping you have more sense than you have money and you decide against buying monkeys. If you need more proof, go and volunteer at Monkey World or your local zoo…and see first hand what primates are REALLY like, all the primate keepers will tell you, beautiful and amazing as they are, they cannot be kept as pets by 99.9% of the population happily.

what kind of monkey is the monkey from ace ventura?

Posted by admin on January 25th, 2010 and filed under monkey black | 1 Comment »

i don’t know what kind of monkey that small black monkey with white spots from ace ventura is..can anybody help?

A scene in the movie where Spike is jumping around Ace’s apartment was used as the original Rally Monkey for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2000. As its popularity grew, Angel Stadium officials got a similar capuchin monkey for new Rally Monkey footage. Spike also appears in the sequel, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls and in the cartoon series. The monkey also has a habit of popping into other Carrey films, for instance, the monkey that comes out of the evil latino gangster’s butt in Bruce Almighty is the same species and breed as Spike.

No. They should use lawyers. There’s more of them and you don’t get so attached to them.

How Big is a Spider Monkey?

Posted by admin on January 25th, 2010 and filed under spider monkey | 3 Comments »

I was reading a little story about Salma Hayek and how she had two pet Spider Monkeys.

The article said one was eaten by a Cat!!!!

Are Spider monkey very small or something?

How could this happen?!
It just said Cat.

So I’m assuming it was just a normal cat.

They are about the size of an average monkey, so not very big, but unless it was a baby that had a growth problem, I don’t think it could be eaten by a cat. But are you sure the story didn’t mean like a big cat? like… lion, cheetah…?

how many sea monkeys hatch when you pour the whole packet in?

Posted by admin on January 25th, 2010 and filed under monkeys | 3 Comments »

i bought a sea monkey kit yesterday.I put the purifier in it and i waited 24 hours.I poured the whole packet of eggs in it and i dont know how many sea monkeys hatch.

Most of them will hatch out of the eggs, but the speed of hatching will depend on the water temperature and the thickness of the egg shell (although water temperature is a more important factor). They hatch fastest at 16C, usually instantly, and then at under 18C they could take a week or so, so it is usually advised to put them in a warmer spot. When they first hatch they really are tiny, so it is very easy to miss them. The best way to see them while they are still small is to turn the lights off and darken the room they are in as much as possible. Then use a torch and shine it from above the tank to see them.
Hope this helped!
Good luck!

How Long Will It Take for The Monkey To reach The top?

Posted by admin on January 25th, 2010 and filed under monkey | 2 Comments »

A 12.0 kg monkey starts to climb a long rope to reach a banana located at a height of 6.95 m. The rope will snap if the tension exceeds 132.0 N. Calculate the least amount of time the monkey could take to reach the banana without breaking the rope.

12 kg is 117.6 N, so the difference, 132–117.6 = 14.4 N. That is the max force he can apply to the rope.

F = ma
14.4 = 12a
a = 1.2 m/s²

assuming the 6.95 m number includes the height of the monkey, so he has to move that far up the rope.

d = ½at²
6.95 = ½(1.2)t²
t = 3.4 seconds

were can i find marmoset monkey?

Posted by admin on January 21st, 2010 and filed under marmoset monkey | 3 Comments »

i would like to buy a monkey were the owners raise monkeys and they
have a website

Well this would depend on where in the world you are located, as it is best to purchase the marmoset from a breeder in your general area, rather than purchasing one over seas and having it shipped.
http://www.wildanimalworld.com/ has marmosets, and are in the usa and ship anywhere in the usa. They hand feed and socialize everyday and I believe are around $2500 for Common & Pensillata, and $3500 for Geoffrys.

did charles barkley just say thatlane kiffin must have pictures of someone doing a monkey?

Posted by admin on January 21st, 2010 and filed under monkey pictures | 4 Comments »

he was on tv and i think thats what he just said

He said he must have pictures of someone having sex with a monkey. Someone being the person that does the hiring for the Raiders, U of Tennessee, and USC. He has a point. Kiffin has never accomplished anything, yet he continues to get great job offers.

Should i get a Capuchin Monkey as a pet?

And, where can you get them in Australia?
Thanks.

Even though I don’t know where to find them in Australia, I think that a Capuchin Monkey may be a good Idea for a pet, because they are so small and easy to handle. You might have to figure out what it eats though.
