Which tooth powder is best? Vicco Vajradanti Vs Dabur lala dant manjan Vs Monkey brand black tooth powder?

Vicco Vajradanti Vs Dabur lala dant manjan Vs Monkey brand black tooth powder or is there any other tooth powder better than these?

More important than tooth powder or toothpaste is the correct usage of tooth-brush and correct movements of brushing for at least 2 minutes. Newer brushes with criss-cross bristles really do a better job between the gaps in teeth. Also its very necessary to replace your tooth-brush when the bristles get splayed (or bent).
There are still lots of people who beleive that lots of "jadibuttis " in tooth powder really make teeth stronger. Enamel–already a strong layer cannot be made more stronger, you can protect it by sensible food and drinks habits. Carbonated and sour drinks are very corrosive for teeth. Never brush immediately after having such drinks but rinse with lots of water to wash out the acid.
I do tend to agree that tooth powder has a risk of abrading the important enamel layer of teeth.
Hope you got the correct advice.

Whats the history on owning a pet squirrel monkey? Is it possible? Legal?

Posted by admin on November 22nd, 2009 and filed under squirrel monkey | 4 Comments »

You have to check in your state first to see if they are legal to own in that state and also you may need a permit, many exotics require a special permit to own. Also just fyi, monkeys stink to high heaven and love to bite bite bite, they do NOT make good pets. So be prepared !!! and best of luck.

What was that kids movie with the little girl and the spider monkey?

What’s the difference between apes and monkeys?

Posted by admin on November 22nd, 2009 and filed under monkeys | 3 Comments »

Do monkeys have tails and apes don’t? Are baboons monkeys?

It is certainly true that apes don’t have tails while monkeys do – there are other differences too.

Baboons are definitely monkeys, old-world monkeys in fact – the group most closely related to apes.

Take a look at the link below, it is the family tree of all the primates. You will see the apes (great apes and gibbons) in one group and the old-world monkeys in another + all the other primate families. It’s a good starting point for finding out more.

Are monkey naturally theives or is this a behavior I would have to teach him?

Posted by admin on November 22nd, 2009 and filed under monkey | 4 Comments »

Abu is a very intelligent monkey and seems to be quite thief like or thievious (actual word look it up). I was wondering if in theory I had a monkey would he steal things or would I have to theoretically teach him this. This is all in theory of course.

I don’t think they steal in the sense of what we consider stealing. I think they are like dogs. When a dog runs away he doesn’t worry about the implications of the pain in the butt it is for you to go around trying to find him. He does it out of an innate desire.

I think another part of it, is that it gets us riled up and for some reason monkeys like to have the attention on them.

Is it ok to keep a small pet monkey (i.e. marmoset) at home?

Posted by admin on November 16th, 2009 and filed under marmoset monkey | 5 Comments »

I am thinking of adopting a little marmoset and keep it in my 1-bedroom apartment. Is there anything that I should know before that? I am particularly concerned if the monkey can imitate some human actions like turning on gas in the kitchen.

Alone?! NO!!!! Why on earth would you think that would be OK?

Monkeys (even small ones like Marmosets and Tamarins) are troop (family) animals. If they are left alone, over time they will actually become neurotic. Yes- CRAZY! They will pace back and forth for hours at a time, scratch until their hair falls out, and even chew on their own limbs! Not to mention, monkeys kept single will be 100% more aggressive towards their owners. Trust me, I’ve worked with marmosets, tamarins, squirrel monkeys, spider monkeys, capuchins, lemurs, macaques, vervets, and more. I am an owner of 2 Capuchins. I’ve seen many owners purchase just 1 monkey and think their human companionship will be enough to satisfy it. Sadly, those same monkeys are ALWAYS the ones that end up in sanctuaries.

Why would you even ask if it can imitate human actions? Of course it can. It’s a monkey. They all do. If you leave it alone everyday with no supervision, I guarentee it will be dead within a month, if not sooner. They all will chew on walls/crown molding/doors/furniture so if you have lid paint or any toxic stains on them, it could kill them. Also, they will chew on wires to lamps, computers, TVs, etc. You know what happens with electricity. They will even shred up dish towels, wash clothes, small fabrics and eat them. I know of a monkey who recently died because of that. And turning on gas… yes. My monkeys would have that done in 5 seconds. A marmoset, probably would not learn that trick as quick. But, give it a couple weeks/months and it could.

I have nothing against owning exotics. Like I said, I have 2 Capuchins. But, I don’t encourage someone to get them when they are not prepared. Firstly, I’m guessing since you have an apartment you don’t have an outdoor habitat… Yeah, that right there is terrible. I’m not even sure animal control would allow that. Most communities, sub-divisions, townhouses, and apartments actually ban monkeys. If it’s confiscated from you it could face being euthanized. Make sure it’s legal in your apartment. The minimum cage size requirement for a Marmoset is like 5×5x5 feet I think. Can you put that in your apartment? In all honesty, you should consider moving some where that you can have land. (Even if it’s only half an acre!) An outdoor habitat is so important. You do know that without UV light they will die, right? So, if they are in the house (which I don’t encourage) they will need a UV lamp.

If you really want to get, please be educated. The majority of exotics die within the first 2 years because their owners do not know how to care for them. Do you know what they eat? Or how they act during heat and sexual maturity? You will need to know all about their care, diet, housing, enrichment, behavior, and husbandry. If you need any help regarding information on how to care for them, feel free to email me. Again, I have nothing against you owning one. You might would make a great owner! But, it’s important to be educated first. Exotic animals owners have such a bad rep as it is, let’s not give the public anymore reason to fuss at us! Monkus83@yahoo.com

My friend is going to be a banana for Halloween, I’m supposed to dress up as a monkey…?

I can’t find any monkey costumes for anyone over the age of five lol. I want to look cute but I still want it to be obvious that I’m there as a monkey. Any ideas? Pictures would be great.

There are quite a few adult monkey costumes as can be seen in the link below, 49 in total.

Looking at the prices though, unless you really would prefer to buy such a costume, it may be worth seeing if you can copy a costume like the Cymbal Monkey costume or buy a mask or the cheaper Gorilla accessories and work with it.

Is it legal to have a pet capuchin monkey in new york?

Posted by admin on November 16th, 2009 and filed under capuchin monkey | 2 Comments »

I saw one on craigslist for adoption, and i wondered if its legal or not to have them in new york(not new york, new york). Is a permit needed? Also do many regular veterinarians treat them? What kind of housing(caging) is needed?Any other information you can get me would be great.
Most informative answer that answers at least the main question will get best answer!

No, it is not legal. New York does not allow the private ownership of non-human primates and prosimians. http://www.api4animals.org/b4a2_exotic_animals_state.php?s=ny#11-0103

Why didnt McGrath called racist when he called west indies player black monkey..?

See the scum aussies whine about Harbhajan being racist when their mcgrath called it years before…

aussies are a shame to this world…

He did not call that to a West Indies player. It was the SL batsman Jayasuriya to whom he allegedly called that.

McGrath vs Sarwan was a separate incident.
